As of this writing, AAID credentialed members
in California can advertise their AAID credential
without restriction or disclaimers. That is
according to Frank Recker, Attorney for the
Academy representing the AAID in its lawsuits in
California and Florida to allow credential members
to publicly use their credentials.
Recker reports that all parties to the mediation
in the federal court in California had reached
agreement on new statutory language. However,
the California Dental Association apparently
changed its mind. “Whether or not the CDA now
proceeds to push for the enactment of the [possible
new legislation] or waits for the appeal to
be decided, is unknown at this time,” Recker
explained. “But at this point our credentials can
be advertised without restriction or disclaimers,”
he concluded.
